Hello Chapter Members,

 

Our area was blessed.  Hurricane Due to hurricane Helene threat, the Chapter has rescheduled the September 27, 2024 membership meeting and workshop to December 6, 2024.  

 

Chapter Membership Meeting and Workshop: Register for the Friday, December 6, 2024, Chapter Membership Meeting and Workshop.  US House of Representative member Ric Keller will provide us with information on two important leadership topics: Leadership Communications and Leading with Civility. Then Carrie Mathes, Orange County Government Procurement Division Manager II, will enlighten us on how we can Expand our Sphere of Influence.  The cost for this event for chapter members and non-members is $20.00. Hot lunches will be provided to all that attend in-person. Attendees will be granted 3.5 hours of continuing education credits for NIGP or UPPCC certification/re-certification.

 

Pro-D Opportunities Scholarships (NEW): Please look on our website for new Pro-D Opportunities Scholarships to enter for.  These are the last ones for this year.  Please look to our website for raffle registration and details. Surveys - Central Florida Chapter of NIGP (cfcnigp.org)

  1. Leadership Summit Edge or Impact, Saturday to Tuesday, February 22-25, 2025, Registration and Airfare Only.  Does not include hotel.  (Deadline November 1st)

Reverse Trade ShowReverse Trade Show is Friday, November 8, 2024, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  Doors open at 7:30 AM (or earlier) for set up.

  • Please have one or more of your team members to attend and represent your agency. Registration is open on www.cfcnigp.org!
  • NEW LOCATION: Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at SeaWorld!!!
  • Earn more scholarship points for early registration. Early Bird registration ends on October 1, 2024.
  • Existing scholarship points can be used for hotel rooms the day before and the day of the event!

Please continue to market the Reverse Trade Show to your vendors. Please assist all you can.  Volunteer positions are still available! Please contact me if you are interested. However, volunteer shirts have already been ordered and cannot be added now.

 

Scholarship Deferment: If you have scholarship dollars, please complete the Deferment Survey at Surveys - Central Florida Chapter of NIGP (cfcnigp.org). You must log in on our website. This survey must be completed by the December 15th deadline.  You may also choose to use some of your scholarship dollars for our community service initiative!  NOTE:  If you do not currently have scholarship dollars listed on the scholarship log, you do not need to complete this survey.

 

Pro-D Opportunities Scholarships: Core Certificate Foundations of Strategy & Policy, 2-Day Course, Wednesday to Thursday, December 12-13, 2024. Congratulations to the five (5) Chapter member recipients: Jazma Owens, City of Groveland, Cassandra Palm, Orange County Public Schools, Viviana Sandoval, Orange County Government, Catina Cummings, Orange County Public Schools, and Jennifer Ditslear, County of Volusia for being selected as winners for the Core Certificate Foundations of Strategy & Policy, December 12-13, 2024 opportunity!

 

2024 Adult Special Event: For those that have registered, our special event is Pirates Dinner Adventure on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 4:30 PM, 6400 Carrier Dr, Orlando, FL 32819. Please arrive by 4:00pm. Registration ended on September 3rd, 2024.

 

Community Services: CFC NIGP is excited to announce this year’s annual community outreach support and fundraiser has been selected and it is Ronald McDonald House Baking Buddies, Campus of Nemours, located at 6551 Nemours Parkway, Orlando, FL on October 12, 2024, between 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. This opportunity is filled!  Thank you so much to those that volunteered!
