Session Title: Can You Relate? Expanding Your Sphere of Influence
Session Overview:
This proposed workshop focuses on the progression of procurement operations elevating themselves as strategic partners, ensuring them a seat at the table, through relationship building and intentional communication strategies.
Relationships matter. As the procurement profession evolves, establishing the procurement operation as a strategic partner has become not only desirable, but essential. Elevating into that role begins from within, requiring intention and a strong communication plan. This session will explore opportunities to develop and strengthen both internal and external relationships, all of which contribute to strategic transformation.

Presenter Bio:
Carrie Mathes, MPA, CFCM, NIGP-CPP, CPPO, C.P.M., CPPB, A.P.P.
Carrie has over 25 years of procurement experience in both the private and public sectors. She currently serves as the Chief Procurement Officer for Orange County.
Carrie holds a Master degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida and has obtained several professional certifications including Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), NIGP Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.).
Carrie currently serves as Chair of the NIGP Governing Board. She is Past President of the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials (FAPPO), and the Central Florida Chapter of NIGP.
